Getting started

Create your account, set up a project and open your first investigation.

Mike Trace is currently opening through the Early Access Research Program. If you don’t have an account yet, join Early Access.

1. Create your account

Join Early Access, or choose a plan on the pricing page once paid plans open. Your account is your own isolated space in Mike Trace: investigations in it are never visible to other customers.

2. Set up a project

Inside your account, create a workspace and a project for the application or service you want to investigate. Projects keep related investigations together and decide which agents can see them.

3. Connect an agent

Add Mike Trace to your AI coding agent over MCP, then approve the agent for your project in the browser. See Connecting an agent for the full walkthrough.

4. Open your first case

When something breaks, open a case and describe what you saw: what you expected, what actually happened and anything else that helps. From there, you and your agent move the investigation through TRACK, TRACE, TARGET and TACKLE.

5. Close with proof

When the fix is in, verify it with fresh evidence and close the case. The full story stays in your account for future reference.
